I promised I would share the 2 previous years of working with these 2 sweet little girls. I decided I would work backwards from the most recent that I already shared, so this post is the photo shoot and card designed for 2008.
The girl’s mom has a horse, and has had him for many years, so I asked if we could do the Christmas photo shoot with him. She LOVED that idea, because she really wanted photos of her horse with her girls anyway. Incidentally, a couple of months after this photo shoot, our oldest daughter {A}, received horse riding lessons from us for Christmas at these stables, where my clients horse is boarded, and so happened to ride this very horse every time for Continue reading | 5 Comments

I am pretty behind in sharing our recent work in this area of the blog. I apologize about that. I hope this special post helps make up for it.
I have done a photo shoot with these sweet little girls every year, for the past 3 years. When their mom first contacted me for our first consultation in 2007, I was ecstatic. I knew the last name, because the husband has an established business in town. So I was interested to find out what she was looking for.
We clicked immediately, and have been the best collaborative team, every since. She has excellent taste, and a real appreciation for creative, custom and quality work. I would offer nothing less, and I… Continue reading | 6 Comments

Although my event, a Funky Urban Expedition, seems long behind me now, and this post seems a little overdue, I thought I would still share the results from that big day here before I move on to other stuff.
But it occurred to me, after the ‘two’ comments on the last post for this (lol)…and some of the others posts of my work here, that I’m not sure that majority of the kind of folks who visit our blog here, can have an appreciation for this kind of art? Or at least, the creative end of my portrait work. It hasn’t really seemed so. Which is understandable, I suppose. It does take a certain vision, or a creative eye, to really get this stuff. I am… Continue reading | 5 Comments

Here is one of the most recent lettering jobs I have done. Plymouth Tire & Auto Service has been a customer of mine for about eight years now. I have lettered several trucks and did some signs for Steve over that time period. On this job Steve wanted me to design something different. Something that would catch the eye a bit more than the traditional door lettering that he had used in the past. So this is what I came up with.

This is a four color job with each color as an overlay on top of the red base color.
Below is closer look to… Continue reading | 2 Comments

I had this idea that had been nagging in my head for the longest time. I wanted to do a little girl’s urban expedition photo shoot. I wanted my custom designer friend, Michelle, to put it on with me. I knew we would be QUITE a team. It would be an event/package deal, of sorts. Moms would need to sign their little girls up, and come along too.
I mentioned it to my friend, and she LOVED the idea! So we planned it. Little did I know, it was going into a crazy-busy time for me. So the event was ON, it was OFF, it was ON and OFF again. And THEN, it was ON again!… Continue reading | 2 Comments

Recently my own parish, St. Bonaventure’s, commissioned me to renovate our church sign out front. The original had been done so many years ago, and it was looking worn and weathered. It definitely needed to be refinished.
The original sign’s background was painted burgandy, and they asked for it to be all stripped, sanded and repainted, with the trim as white, the gold reguilded, and the background the blue as you see above. This blue matches the doors of our church, which is symbolic of something…..I forget. I’ll find out and let you know later.
So anyway…..I got it home and stripped all of the paint off. … Continue reading | 7 Comments

Meet Brianna!! Brianna got my Senior Story Package (that is, her story of course.). So we were able to go all out, and we did!! Her sessions were held at multiple locations: her yard and pond, her neighbor’s yard, my studio, and an urban location. She was up for anything-and you can bet I always love that! She is very into the arts, so she’s a girl I can relate to!: She writes, she loves photography, she takes dance and boxing! We incorporated all of that in her shoots, and I am so happy with her collection of images. She is also part of the National Honor Society. (You go Girl!)
I don’t think Brianna has decided what to major in when she… Continue reading | 7 Comments

This is my second ‘Joseph’ senior of the season, and he was great to work with. Easy going and co-operative, which is really all I need, but he was charming and friendly too, which always makes for a fun shoot.
This was just a basic session, so there are not a ton of shots to begin with. I just grabbed a few to share. He has a great smile, and gave me plenty of them! But I like his simple, content look too.
His mom has hired me before. I did her daughter (Joe’s sister) as a senior, last year, I believe? (I think it was last year, Hhmm. I’m so tired. lol) We just used their own yard, just… Continue reading | 4 Comments

Here is another senior beauty, Jessica! She comes from a great family, and I have done lots of work for them. Jessica is one of 5 really great kids in her family. I’ve been trying to remember just when it was, that I met their mother, because honestly, it seems like I’ve known her forever. I’ve done their family portrait, Jessica’s older sister’s senior photos, her older brother’s senior photos, and her older sister has also done some modeling work for me. And get this….the WHOLE FAMILY has dimples!!! I am always smitten with dimples. : ) I have enjoyed getting to know each child a little better, as they grow and become a senior. THIS is Jessica’s year, and she was… Continue reading | 16 Comments

I know some of you have been waiting to see how the lettering is prepared, before it goes on the trucks, but that’s not this post yet. lol. He will do that at some point. But this is Laura, actually, blogging for Michael : ) I took photos of this job for Michael, not only because I like the layout, because I think this tow truck is adorable! Isn’t it just cute? I love the red and the tinted windows too.

Also, I didn’t think we posted a 2 color job yet. It’s a sharp looking job.
Michael has been taking care of Performance Automotive for 10 years now.… Continue reading | 2 Comments
