A Peek at Fall Decor Around Our Homestead

Posted by Laura on Friday Oct 30, 2009 Under Home Decor, The Homestead

I say it all of the time;  I’m no Martha Stewart, but I sure enjoy seasonal home decor!  It’s one of the many things that put the ‘happy’ in our home for me.  I love doing the decorating, and I love seeing it, but I don’t like much taking it down and putting it away.  (Do chefs love to clean up?  lol).  I didn’t get to as much… Continue reading

I must admit, a little bit of the Christmas blues have hit.  Not to take away one bit of the joy in celebrating the birth of Jesus, and all that that means for us.  If nothing else, that’s what helps… Continue reading

We hope your Christmas was as beautiful and filled with peace as ours was.  Of course, I don’t necessarily mean auditory peace, if you have a house full of excited kids as we do, but you know, inner peace.  That quiet kind of Christmas joy you feel in your heart, that tends to bring such moments… Continue reading

It’s Christmas Eve! So just a quick note to you all:   This is the nativity set that Fr. Reed and Catholic TV gifted us with.   We wanted to share some photos of it with you as we promised to.  And what more appropriate day to do so?  We will treasure this set for all of… Continue reading

A New Crucifix for Our Home

Posted by Laura on Friday Oct 17, 2008 Under Home Decor, The Homestead

We have a new crucifix for our home.  At mass a  couple of weeks ago, there was a guest speaker from  Bethlehem. He had 2 tables full of beautiful, hand crafted, religious wooden pieces for sale.  He explained to our parish how the families of Bethlehem make these items, as a means to support themselves.  Yet… Continue reading
