This wonderful (and I mean wonderful!) roll recipe was sent in by our friend Paula, from A Catholic Harvest. She’s a great gal. I adore her for so many reasons, but to sum it up, she’s a mixed bag. I love people who are full of wonderful qualities, but also full of surprises. For instance, recently I learned that she’s a ‘closet head-banger’. Inside this sweet, funny, supportive and faithful girl, is an inner rock-n-roll chick!! It’s true! Who knew?!
So speaking of rolls…lol….I love this recipe she sent us. I have a few recipes sent in that I’ll be making, now that I have more time to cook and bake. But here is one for now. She sent it, we made it, we… Continue reading

The other day, {A} asked me if she could make some ice cream. “Ice cream?” I asked, puzzled. “Yeah, Mama. Ice cream. I’ve made it before and it’s really good!” “Uh huh” I answered. But I was thinking, ‘Don’t you really need an ice cream maker for that?’
So got out all of the stuff, and I started taking photos. You know, just in case this one turned out ok. Maybe I could use it for the blog. Even if it was less for Vittles (as in, edible), and more for a kid science experiment in the Home Schooling section! So, I found my purpose in sticking around for a bit, and kept shooting.
She got out all she said she… Continue reading

Have you ever seen cookies like these? They are called Italian Cookies, and maybe they are ordinary to you. But the very thought or sight of them, has always made my heart simply swell.
My Godmother has made these cookies for me, all of my life. I think she makes them a lot. She may even be known for them in the lives of many people who are in her life. But it doesn’t matter. Whenever she made them for ME, it always felt like such a gift of her love for me.

My… Continue reading

Here’s a soup recipe that’ll be sure to warm your chilled bones. If you love tacos, you’ll love this taco soup! I do love tacos, and I also love soup. Good soups – which are usually home made of course. I also LOVE Panera Bread’s Broccoli Cheddar Soup (and so do our kids). I had some today as a matter of fact. It was just the pick-me-up I needed in between the stores of a little Christmas shopping. Ate it in a quiet van. It was the weirdest experience! lol
Now I didn’t invent this Taco Soup recipe, but I did revise it a bit to make it…well, better! No one needs as many beans… Continue reading

Yesterday morning, with several tasks on the day’s agenda ahead of me, I decided I was going to make that soup one way or another! Michael had to be out on a morning job, so to manage schooling the little ones and make my soup, the kids took all of their school work and moved to the breakfast bar from the school room. It was the perfect set up for us to still be able to work together, communicate and multi-task. So they got to work in their books, taking turns reading the concepts and directions, etc, and I got to chopping! : )
Of course, they were on the distracted side, wanting to watch what I was doing… Continue reading

Heffalump Rumpledoodles. These things are quite possibly the tastiest little crumpets on the face of the earth!
We first heard of Rumpledoodles when the little one’s Auntie L gave them this charming Winnie the Pooh DVD movie titled Pooh’s Heffalump Movie, for their 3rd birthday. In the movie, the Hundred Acre Wood gang decide to go out and hunt the much feared, and never-seen Heffalumps they have been hearing out in the woods. Roo went off on his own hunt, and has a run-in with a baby Heffalump, when he is suddenly ‘tagged you’re it!’. The adorable little Heffalump, named “Lumpy”, and Little Roo… Continue reading
