Have you ever seen cookies like these?  They are called Italian Cookies, and maybe they are ordinary to you. But the very thought or sight of them, has always made my heart simply swell.

My Godmother has made these cookies for me, all of my life.  I think she makes them a lot. She may even be known for them in the lives of many people who are in her life. But it doesn’t matter.  Whenever she made them for ME, it always felt like such a  gift of her love for me.

The bread we go through is crazy, and it’s seemed one of those things you can’t buy enough of, and it’ll go just as quick.  We’re not ‘white bread’ people either, so what we spend on bread can get….tiresome.  So a few weeks back, my hubby decided he’d try making some. After all, he makes a mean pizza dough.  And he had a good book that his parents let us have. (I think.  I’m afraid we borrowed it, and never returned it, but he says no.) … (READ MORE......) | 10 Comments

Over the weekend we decided to look around in The Christmas Tree Shops. If you don’t have one of those near you, I feel bad for you.  It’s such a great, affordable place, and I always come out with more than I planned on getting. So I try not to go in often. : )  But this time we all went in – and being the season to sell autumn decorations and goods, I had to control myself with every turn.  However…..we did let the kids each choose a mini loaf ceramic pan, with the intention of letting them bake some mini loaves on Sunday.

Sunday got away in terms of baking.  So then… (READ MORE......)

We are SO very blessed, that the man and head of our household and family (well, one of them, lol) is multi-talented.  There is NOTHING he cannot do.  He is what they refer to as a ‘Jack-of-all-trades’.  His vast abilities including mechanics, electronics, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, finishing, you name it….has probably saved us ga-zillions over the years.  His father is the same way, and that’s exactly where he got it from. They are natural born do-it-yourselfers-, and they do so with pride and quality in their work.

So I knew my new little dream could quite possibly come true, when I told my ever-loving husband I REALLY wanted a big… (READ MORE......) | 3 Comments

Heffalump Rumpledoodles.  These things are quite possibly the tastiest little crumpets on the face of the earth!

We first heard of Rumpledoodles when the little one’s Auntie L gave them this charming Winnie the Pooh DVD movie titled Pooh’s Heffalump Movie, for their 3rd birthday.  In the movie, the Hundred Acre Wood gang decide to go out and hunt the much feared, and never-seen Heffalumps they have been hearing out in the woods.  Roo went off on his own hunt, and has a run-in with a baby Heffalump, when he is suddenly ‘tagged you’re it!’.  The adorable little Heffalump, named “Lumpy”, and Little Roo (READ MORE......) | 1 Comment
