By the time {A}’s birthday came, which was following the later part of the long 4th of July weekend, we were on a partying roll.   Per tradition in our family, the birthday person gets to choose what they’d like to do as a family, within reason.  {A} had a special wish indeed this year… Continue reading

We don’t really GO on vacation very often.   Usually it’s not an affordable option for us anyway.  Do you know most hotels only allow FOUR to FIVE people to a room, or else you need to book 2 rooms adjoining? They say it’s because of fire regulations.  So because we can barely… Continue reading

Most every year, we make it down to the Plymouth parade.  Being in America’s Hometown, it’s a big deal around here!  (As is Thanksgiving, and our parade for that.)

This year, it was HOT-HOT-HOT.  Full blazin’ sun, humid as anything, the works.  We enjoyed the majority of the parade, and… Continue reading

I have been talking for 2 weeks, about getting my hair cut again, because it’s driving me crazy.  This morning I mentioned out loud to Michael, how I’d really like to go get it done today.   But he said, “Me and the boys all need them too, anyway.”  We are rather spoiled, because our hairdresser… Continue reading

A Dragonfly Wonder

Posted by Laura on Friday Jun 18, 2010 Under Life In General, The Big Picture

It’s Friday afternoon, and a beautiful summer-like day. I was doing some stuff around the house, with all of the windows open, and the kids were all playing outside, when I hear {JM}, “WOW! I just found a really BIG dragonfly! Guys, come look!”. I was chuckling at how loud he was yelling, with such enthusiasm, and wondered if the whole town might come running. I slipped on my flip-flops, and saw my husband was already at the site, of said-dragonfly. He said, “You didn’t bring your camera?” My plan was to judge for myself, if it was camera-worthy.

I took one glance, and…..Yup! It was!! ……….. Continue reading

Let Us Rejoice and Be Glad…

Posted by Laura on Saturday May 15, 2010 Under Celebrations, Faith, The Big Picture

{JM, O & S} sure are!  This day, that they have waited for for so long, finally arrived! I promise, this is the last of the First Holy Communion posts – along with the Vittles post up right now.  We’re hoping someone, somewhere, is still interested, while we indulge in posting about this happy occasion… Continue reading

Meet “PIXEL”; Our Rather Unusual New Pet

Posted by Laura on Friday May 7, 2010 Under The Big Picture

Quite recently, we got a ‘real’ pet, and it seems I about shocked about half the world over in allowing this.  Let’s just say, I’ve never been into the whole domestic-type pets thing.  (Although I have been won over too,  by an East German Shepherd, we have watched grow from a fuzzy puppy.  He’s BIG… Continue reading

May Day Baskets / Delivering

Posted by Laura on Monday May 3, 2010 Under The Big Picture, Traditions

Putting together, and delivering surprise baskets on May Day (May 1st), has become yet another annual tradition we have embraced.  This year, it happened to fall on the day before our kids First Holy Communion, so it was a packed weekend with much to accomplish, for sure!  But we just HAD to… Continue reading

Please Pray.

Posted by Laura on Monday May 3, 2010 Under Prayers Request, The Big Picture

In the past few weeks, things have grown quieter here at Our House Of Joyful Noise.  The reason our blogging has been a bit slower, is because we have been extremely busy, with a few exciting things we’ve been up to, and very much preparing for a very important event in our life and… Continue reading

Earth Day 2010

Posted by Laura on Saturday Apr 24, 2010 Under Life In General, The Big Picture, Traditions

A few years back, we decided to invest some ‘extra’ personal efforts of our own, on Earth Day, to help preserve and protect our environment.  It has become a tradition of ours, every year since.  Somehow, we’ve been blessed with perfect weather to revel in every year on April 22… Continue reading
